BSCRA News May 2007 The results of the postal ballot of BSCRA members are - Rob Lees is elected BSCRA Chairman for 2007/8 Pat Skene is elected BSCRA Public Relations Officer for 2007/8 Thank you to all the candidates and all the BSCRA members who voted. Chris Frost BSCRA News March 2007 BSCRA 's Annual Council Meeting was held on 3rd March 2007, and the following key changes were determined by the Council: Graham Woodward has decided to step down as Competition Secretary due to pressure of work, but will continue as BOC Co-ordinator and as a member of the Competition Rules Committee (CRC). Ian Fisher is the new BSCRA Competition Secretary, and Steve Sergeant is the new BSCRA Development Officer. These officials were appointed unopposed. Dave Coward and Paul Bucknell were appointed to the Competition Rules Committee by the Council. Stuart Strachan did not stand for re election to the CRC as he has been less involved in slot racing in recent months. The Council would like to thank Stuart for his excellent work on the CRC. The CRC will now comprise a Chairman (the Competition Secretary) and 3 committee members. There will be changes to the way the CRC is run and clarifications to the body approval guidelines. The principles of these changes were agreed at the Council Meeting, and detail of these changes will be finalized by the BSCRA Council in the near future. I am sure you will all want to join me in congratulating everybody on their new appointments and wish them every success in their new roles. Chris Stemman (Treasurer), Colin Jackson (Newsmag Editor), Kev Gray (Membership Secretary) and Chris Frost (Association Secretary) continue in their existing roles. Elections of BSCRA Officials We will be holding an election for two posts on the BSCRA Council: Association Chairman and Public Relations Officer. All BSCRA members are encouraged to vote. The Membership Secretary posted the voting papers to members on 19th March 2007 (by 2nd class mail), if you don't receive yours by 28 March please contact Kev Gray. The candidates standing for BSCRA Chairman are Rob Lees and James Cleave. The candidates standing for BSCRA Public Relations Officer are Andy Brown-Searle and Pat Skene. Both posts will be elected by a postal ballot of BSCRA members and arrangements are being made to send ballot papers to members. The ballot papers will be accompanied by a statement from each candidate. Rob Lees will continue to fill both posts until the results of the election are known after the 1/32 Nationals. Rule Changes The proposal for a change to the segmented racing format in 1/32 Sports/GT was approved, and will be introduced for the 2008 Nationals. There was a majority against all the other proposed changes, so there are no changes to the car standards and no changes to the 1/32 Nationals format for 2007. The Council also discussed a number of other issues, and full minutes of the 2007 BSCRA Council meeting will appear in the next issue of SCRN.
