Competition Rules Committee

I have accepted the resignations of Charlie Gooding, James Cleave and Paul Harwood from the BSCRA Competition Rules Committee (CRC). I'd like to thank them for their contribution to the Association and hope they will continue to enjoy their racing.

Please continue to contact the BSCRA Competitions Secretary, Graham Woodward on any CRC matters such as rule interpretations or submitting new products for approval.  As a temporary measure BSCRA Council members will fill the vacant CRC posts, we expect to appoint permanent CRC members in the near future.

BSCRA Magazine Editor

Colin Jackson  has been appointed* BSCRA Magazine Editor from 1st February 2007.   

I am sure most of you know Colin as one of the most enthusiastic racers over the years at the British Open Championship, and many will know  just how much work he puts in to make his club a success.  Colin's experience in writing for many magazines is a great asset in the Slot Car Racing News role.   I am sure you will all want to join me in congratulating Colin  and wish him every success with the magazine.

Magazine contributions from BSCRA members are very much welcome.   Please send your contributions, be it an article or a few lines of club news to Colin Jackson.

Keith Gibson has decided to stand down as BSCRA Magazine Editor from 1st February 2007.   Keith has done an excellent job producing Slot Car Racing News, I doubt most members realise just how much work is needed to produce a magazine of this quality.  Over the last couple of years Keith has been under increasing pressure at work, not least with frequent trips working abroad, so he simply hasn't had the time to produce the magazine as regularly as he would like. Many thanks to Keith, I know he will continue to enjoy his racing (and no doubt continue to beat most of us!)

BSCRA Chairman

Rob Lees has been appointed* BSCRA Chairman from 1st January 2007.   

I'm know many of you will have raced  at National or World Championships where Rob  was race director /race controller, and will know  what an excellent job he does . In more recent times he has been a member of the BSCRA Council as Public Relations Officer. I am sure you will all want to join me in congratulating Rob on this appointment, and wishing him every success in the new role.

Brian Saunders has decided to stand down as BSCRA chairman from 1st January 2007, so that he can concentrate on organizing the 2008 World Championships.  The Worlds will be coming to the UK for the first time in over a decade in 2008, and a great deal of work is needed to make this event a great success.  A big thank you to Brian for his excellent chairmanship of BSCRA.  I'd like to wish  Brian all the best  in organizing a great event, and I'm sure many of us will want to offer  Brian practical support to make the 2008 Worlds a great success.

*  All BSCRA Council members will be appointed for the 2007/8 season at  the Annual Council Meeting in March (if unopposed) , or after the Council Meeting (if there is more than one candidate for a post).  
An election will be held where there is more than one candidate for a Council post and all BSCRA members will have the opportunity to vote.
