Gainsborough on 12th March. Pete Wilson won the Production race (not sure
if there was an actual race though). Graeme Stephenson triumphed in Saloon
and F1 with Tom Marsh winning Sports. Area 1 News - March 2006 Once again, the racing was closer than perhaps expected given the mix of open and low powered cars running. It was a shame that Alan was unwell and unable to compete to defend his triple title. In production it was Ross who ran away both with qualifying and the A final which he won by three laps from Dad Neil who was saying he was beginning to learn (and enjoy?) the track. Qualifying for second to fifth was covered by only .37 laps! In the B final Richard did enough to win and it would have been enough for second in the A Final! John R had a safe run to win the C final from Linsey. In Saloon John R gave a hint of things to come with a quick 30 in his first run. Richard was just two laps behind in his Falcon powered car. Neil and Pat knuckled down and just managed to squeeze past Richard but Ross once more was away on his own with a 31. It was very close behind with less than a lap covering fifth to eighth. Andrew took the C Final with 28 while Craig under-performed on small tyres. Richard won the B Final with his Falcon from three Gp12 cars. Ross ran out winner of the A final by some 2 laps from John who chased him hard keeping Neil at bay. There was no catching Ross in F1 again. He duly top qualified by over two laps and walked away with the A Final winning by a clear 5 laps from Neil. Richard was next up having once again sneaked a falcon powered car into the A Final. The B Final was a close affair between those Morrison brothers with Rod just coming out on top. Andrew took a close C final from Linsey. Finally came sports and qualifying saw the open strap powered cars spread out so there was no repeat of power problems. Ross duly top qualified but he had to keep looking over his shoulder at the low powered cars of John and Richard who were quicker than the other open cars at this stage. The C final was won by Norman with a storming 46 in his low powered car. Neil had a comfortable win by just over two laps from Rod and Steve who had a close battle. The A final ended up a lot closer than might have been expected as John took the battle to Ross. Ross eventually came out on top but with only one lap separating him from the lower powered car. Pat and Richard had a good tustle but this time the open powered car of Pat prevailed over the low powered car of Richard by just over a lap at the finish. This was an excellent finale to this years Championship and Nationals qualifying possibly made more open and interesting with the revised class structure. Area round at Pirelli on 12th February. This was a shared round with Area
2 so we had the added challenge of some different drivers to contend with.
Each Area scored for themselves. We had 25 drivers in total which
(to save time) meant we had to drop qualifying in F1 and Sports, those finals
being based on Saloon qualifying. Nevertheless, the meeting was excellent
with some close racing throughout the field and plenty of youngsters taking
part. The latest Area 3 Championship tables Area 1 - Barnton Area Meeting Sunday 8th January 2006 All the news from round 3 of the Scottish Championships Area 3 News - Pontefract Area Meeting Sunday 8th January 2006 Area 3 held it's second (of four)
area rounds at Pontefract on the 8th January. Around 16 drivers enjoyed
some good close racing throughout the day and it was good to see Chas back in
action although he wasn't feeling great. The latest Championship tables AREA

2006 Area 1 - Highland Area Meeting Sunday 11th December 2005 All the news from round 2 of the Scottish Championships. Area 5 - Leicester Area Meeting Sunday 11th December 2005 The
first Area 5 meeting was held at the small but challenging Leicester track on
Sunday. All 3 clubs were represented and we had some fast and close racing using
Production chassis and Falcon power. First
up was Saloon, and Brian Saunders was virtually untouchable with his ballistic
Eurotoy and took the class by nearly 4 laps from Stuart Tennant with Trevor
Tennant 3rd and Woody 4th. In
F1 Brian proved fallible for once and was upstaged by Chris Thomas taking top
spot by a lap, from Brian 2nd, Steve Kearey 3rd and Trevor
Tennant 4th. Normal service was
resumed in the Sports finals with Brian again taking 1st place with
some astonishing times in the segmented final. Two heats of 58 laps + would have
shattered the lap record on a race night. Chris Thomas took 2nd place
just 2 laps adrift, Woody took 3rd spot and Bob Budge was 4th
from the B final. A good day’s
racing was enjoyed by the 14 drivers, and now we’re looking forward to the
next round at the new Dudley track on January 8th. Full results can be
found on our website – www.leicesterslotcarclub.co.uk
, and thanks to all for a good day.
AREA 3 - Newcastle Area Meeting on 13th November 2005 Area 3 held it's first area round at
Newcastle , with seventeen drivers taking part . There was some very close
racing through the day. Click for a printable version of the Newcastle results Stuart Strachan
AREA 1 - BSCRA Scottish Championship Meeting Barnton 13th November 2005 As you can see it was a clean sweep for Ross Grogan in all classes and he even managed to beat the Super production Qualifying time in a production car!!The new format for the Championship allows people to compete at all levels and seems to be popular with both the falcon racers and the open BSCRA racers and allows beginners to compete for the Scottish Championship on an even playing field and should keep interest going right up until the last round at Highland in February 06. At the same time nationals qualifying continues for those who wish to run the open BSCRA classes. Ross used his new prototype E Sport chassis to good effect in the sports race and is expecting production chassis to be available very soon. Also attached are photos of Ross's e sport and production chassis both of which are worth a close look at.Full results and championship tables Pat Skene
