NB - On typing up the results I noticed that Roddy was erroneously put
in the C final above, whereas he should have been in the B final with Dave
demoted to the C. I think the best way of “correcting” this is to:
·
demote Dave to 9th (the best
position he could have finished in if he’d been put in the correct final)
·
promote Roddy to 8th (the
position he qualified in)
·
promote Craig to 7th (You
could maybe argue that Roddy should be 7th because he did more laps in his final
than Craig, but then Craig could argue that Roddy should have been on the worst
lane in the B whereas he got the best lane in the C. For me, it’s significant
that Craig beat Roddy in qualifying so I think he has a slightly better claim to
7th
Sorry about this. If anyone disagrees strongly with the above, please
let me know.

Steve has a big lead in the Novice championship, but Craig could still beat him if he finishes 1st or 2nd (with Steve behind him) at the final round.
Last year we got 4 Nationals qualifiers in Novice Production. If that is
repeated, Steve and Craig are guaranteed of qualifying and people who haven’t
attended any rounds yet still have a chance if they race at the last one!

The Saloon championship will be fought out by Ross and Neil at the final round. Neil must finish in the top 2 and beat Ross to have a chance.
Last year we got 6 Nationals qualifiers in Saloon. If that is repeated, everyone listed above except Norman still has a chance to qualify. Ross, Neil and Pat are already guaranteed to be the top 3.

Ross and Neil are guaranteed to be in the top 4, and Pat only needs to turn up at the last round to join them (but Pat and Neil are still vulnerable if we only get 3 qualifiers). Of the others, Richard and Alan still have realistic chances of making the top 4 and Roddy has a theoretical chance (he needs to win the last round and Richard not to turn up and Alan to finish worse than 3rd!).

Ross’s score of 118 will probably be overtaken by Craig and Andrew, and is also vulnerable to occasional Clubman drivers such as Alan and Dave. Much will depend on who chooses to run Clubman cars at the last round. There are prizes for the top 5.
